Josh Kaufman

As General Counsel of Acceleration Community of Companies, Josh Kaufman leads the legal, function across ACC’s portfolio of agencies. He partners with the executive team and agency leaders on client and talent contracting, employment, intellectual property, privacy, corporate development and M&A, AI governance, and dispute resolution — with a business-first orientation focused on helping ACC and its agencies move quickly and confidently in a fast-changing marketing landscape.
Josh joined ACC after more than two decades at The Interpublic Group of Companies, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President & Associate General Counsel of IPG and General Counsel of its Specialized Communications & Experiential Solutions division, supporting The Weber Shandwick Collective, Golin, Octagon, Jack Morton, and FutureBrand across communications, experiential, sports and entertainment marketing, and branding. As a member of the Weber Shandwick Executive Leadership Team, he counseled C-suite executives on a wide variety of issues, from politically nuanced engagements to influencer and A-list talent agreements, FTC and regulatory compliance, global privacy obligations, and the early enterprise adoption of generative AI.
Earlier in his career, Josh worked at law firms in NYC where he focused on transactions and counseling for advertising and marketing services agencies and other public and private companies. He holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law, and a B.A.in Sociology from Bard College.
Josh lives in NYC with his husband and two kids.
